Happy Friday! Oh wait...it’s Tuesday🤦‍♀️ Part of me wants to do something different tomorrow knowing it marks the first day of a full month of the unknown after what’s already felt so long...but honestly my energy level isn’t there for it. Rather than make grand plans, I’ll stick to enjoying the small things and allowing this unique time to be what it is. Anything else is a bonus! ⠀ Our first week of “official” e-learning is underway and let’s just say I’ll commit to raising them kind with no guarantee that this will resemble a normal school day for my kids.⠀ ⠀ Our days at home continue to flex - lots of outside time yesterday while the sun was shining, sisters building and creating, reading, managing more true school work during naptime and handling the occasional breakdown. Theirs and mine. ⠀ ⠀ Not sure what this will all look like a month from now or a year from now... But I have a feeling whatever it is, a new kindness and appreciation of each other will be part of it ♥️
This “pause” in life has surely been full of u This “pause” in life has surely been full of up & downs each day. But it’s reminded me more of what I want this space to be as I reflect on how to share and help this community right now. I am so fortunate to have this corner of the internet and space on your feed and I take the responsibility that comes with that. ⠀ ⠀ What do I want this to be most? A space you see a friend...a friend that encourages you, shares her real - good & bad, and helps you keep moving forward.⠀ ⠀ As we all navigate this time, I’m reminded of my goals AND my values.⠀ ⠀ ✨I always share budget first. Always have, always will. And now that’s even more important which is why I’m not sharing the same volume of deals I have in the past personally. ⠀ ⠀ ✨When I do share a deal or a fun find, I’m doing it to keep “normal” for all of us, to keep us focused on knowing we will move beyond this time, but please know I’m not buying at my normal volume either. Enjoy the deals, support the economy, and be smart! ✨I shared that this month’s profits from my blog are going back to community organizations thru donations and giveaways for you to share the love! ✨You’ll see more of my crazy fam, how we’re coping, ideas on what we’re loving for dinner or activities to pass the time. ✨This is an emotional time as a special needs momma. When I get all serious and share my heart please know that it’s coming from a space of love. ⠀ 👋 Also... Work days + e-learning + therapy for Coral + a sassy toddler + the blog = inconsistent posting from me. My equation for this is taking it day by day so some days I may be on it and motivated to find great deals I’ve scheduled for the day and tell you about a great recipe! Other days I may not have that time and it‘ll be quiet here. And then there will be posts like this where I just start pouring my heart out (and you may not want to read that long 😉 haha).⠀ ⠀ ♥️Mommas, thanks for being here. We are far from having this all figured out. We ar We are far from having this all figured out. We are far from any type of structured schedule, and thankfully that worked in our favor today. A friend posted a similar “stain glass” on our school’s page that immediately caught my eye this morning. We had the supplies needed and well, we went for it! I should have counted how many times my oldest asked “are you sure we should be doing this???” or “shouldn’t we ask Dad first?” 🙃 Truth is painting on one of our house windows is definitely nothing I would have agreed to before. But that light, it’s a light we’re all seeking here right now. So even if it really stains I’m not the slightest bit worried about it. Glad to have this new corner of our house as a sanctuary. Are you living by schedule or going with the flow? Would love your feedback- today we tried to make a list of things we wanted to accomplish during the day and we checked them off as we went vs a set time. Seemed to work well for us today. If you’re interested in this project, we simply used kid’s washable paint, mixed with a bit of water and dish soap and painter’s tape. A closer look at the painting process is up in stories.

I’ve decided to take this thing day by day. ⠀ I’ve decided to take this thing day by day. ⠀ I’m allowing myself to feel however I’m feeling. ⠀ I’m taking more time to pray. ⠀ I’m posting when I feel like it instead of my regular cadence. ⠀ I’m trying to capture more videos of my kids. ⠀ I’m thinking of small ways to help others right now.⠀ I’m eating too many sweets and carbs (at least more than normal!) ⠀ I’m getting myself out of pajamas but not fully ready. ⠀ I’m (trying) to embrace the chaos, but it’s definitely different than the chaos I’m used to.⠀ I’m missing hugs with friends, school drop off routine and getting ready for work in the office.⠀ I’ve cut back on my news intake not because I think it’s hyped but because I don’t need it to consume my day.⠀ I’m anxious about the germs if I do need to run to the grocery store.⠀ I’m concerned about those loved ones who are vulnerable or will be more exposed. ⠀ I’m committed to saying something if I think I can make a difference or help.⠀ I’m noticing small things like how big my oldest’s feet are getting.⠀ I’m enjoying my kid’s creativity and getting frustrated when they are too. But doing my best not to show it.⠀ I’m doing ok.⠀ I’m taking this day by day.⠀ ⠀ So momma, how are YOU doing? ♥️

How about you?⠀ ⠀ I had a cute flat lay ready to post, but if you’ve been with me for a while, I hope you know my heart is big and my mind ever moving. I’m still posting deals, focusing on the good, having fun and laughing but I also have a heart full of concern for those that are struggling right now.⠀ ⠀ I’ll do what I can to help from inside the walls of my house, spend more time on prayer, pick up some curbside meals to support the amazing community around us, enjoy this time with my little family and keep looking up and out into this big, beautiful world. Clean hands. #repeat 👇⠀ ⠀ Just a couple days ago I ran out for coffee but things are changing quickly, and we are working to limit our exposure...so drive thrus and quick pick ups will be in order here, doing our best to support local when we can. ⠀ ⠀ I made the decision to not let our oldest attend a birthday party and laid with her while she she cried to me about it last night along with her other worries. It’s a balance of keeping her informed, letting her know the truth of what we do know but trying to relieve her worries. This is just a “pause” so we can help keep each other safe. We prayed for her concerns, others’ worries and then took time to thank God for all we have right now.⠀ ⠀ Our priest shared a wonderful homily at our last school mass on Friday. Great perspective on all of this, breaking it down simply for our kids as best we can and reminding us of what we need to do at this time, “Fear not” and help each other - that’s what we must do. Today and every day ♥️⠀ ⠀
Hard for me to believe I’ve been on this blog jo Hard for me to believe I’ve been on this blog journey for 2 years now! I remember trying to reach my first couple hundred people over on FB, so when I see the page start to approach bigger numbers, I’m kind of blown away. I hope you know I don’t take this group for granted. This community gives me a space to share the light-hearted, the big (and long-winded) conversations that swirl in my head, to have some fun and in the end, a place I hope helps inspire you- all the way from how you style an outfit to how you approach life. If you’re new here, you’ll quickly find I’m a mom of 3 girls, one an epilepsy warrior and I write about that quite a bit beyond my style posts. It was hard for me to think I could make something of this, and it’s still hard to take myself seriously sometimes...often needing to get myself out of the rut of comparing myself to others or thinking I don’t have the “right” to do this. But I do, and I hope that you know whatever it is you’re after, you can do it too. You have the right to, you have the right to follow your heart, you can do hard things, even when you don’t know how you will. I now simply write down, “HTM is a space where I lead and inspire” daily so I never forget what I want here and I hope you feel that as you scroll by. Thank you. Social distancing. It actually makes us quickly re Social distancing. It actually makes us quickly realize how CLOSE we are and how much we truly DEPEND on each other. We depend on each other to keep each other healthy. The fragile and compromised especially. We depend on the hospital to be open, for the nurses and doctors as well as all the rest of the staff that makes it run and all the emergency personnel. They in turn depend on someone to watch their kids to the gas station to get to work. We depend on the necessities to run our household. The medicine that’s critical for us or our loved ones We depend on the people that work in those service industries, the people who ship and deliver the supplies, the people that make and manufacture them. The people who are affected by the cancellations and changes financially. Stressed, worried about what this means. Cancellations when money has already been spent. It’s easy to look at this as what each of us individually need, but let’s worry less about the “stuff” and more about the people and their critical needs...let’s still plan to laugh as we fumble thru this...lend a hand and a smile...think about the ripple effect when something seems to affect us knowing it may be a lot harder for someone else in this chain...and remember that we are in this together. There is no alone. The distance is the close we need ♥️ // This photo was taken near the end of our one month hospital stay. A hospitalization due to Influenza A just a few years ago. A virus that multiple times made us think our girl may not survive it. An illness that our local children’s hospital couldn’t handle because of her medical needs. A virus that she only had a part of her first flu vaccine for (it hit before we got her back in for her second shot since this was her first one). The flu that made her lose so many skills. Even eye contact for weeks. This was the first time she was able to look at me in weeks and I captured and still treasure this photo. So yes, we should do all the preventative things we’re being asked to do with more than a grain of salt knowing there are families who need us to take this seriously enough to save our loved ones.
