October 23, 2018October 23, 2018 By Erin

I’ve (successfully) completed three rounds of Whole30 and while I’m contemplating another one, I decided to do a few week break from alcohol

You know why I married this man? This man who turn You know why I married this man? This man who turned out to be an amazing father, does so much around the house, does everything he can to make me happy or to make his kids laugh? The man who deals with our crazy healthcare and insurance ordeals over and over to make sure our C has what she needs, who loves Disney just like a kid and loves his family with all his heart.
You know why? Because I have an incredible dad too with those same qualities. And I know my girls will end up with a good man too because of their dad ♥️ Happy Father’s Day to a couple of the world’s bests!
#1 thing I’ve learned as a mom. Every kid is dif #1 thing I’ve learned as a mom. Every kid is different. Like realllllly different. And they’ll do things in their own time. We’re there to guide and love them - not to push. Not to choose or decide. ⠀
Also good lessons to remember in potty training 😉🤣 (Send more coffee, puh-lease!) //Outfit linked in my @herestomomma LIKEtoKNOW.it link or follow me in the app!
Another year married to my best friend. We have to Another year married to my best friend. We have to work for our magic no doubt, but there’s no one else I’d rather do this crazy, beautiful life of ours with - Cheers to 14 years! You’re my happy place ♥️
Did you yell at the kids today? I did.⠀ ⠀ Did Did you yell at the kids today? I did.⠀
⠀
Did you get everything you wanted done? I surely didn’t.⠀
⠀
Did you cry? Yes. ⠀
⠀
Did you get mad at yourself? Again, 👋⠀
⠀
But here’s the most important question... Did you give yourself grace?⠀
Thankfully, Yes.⠀
⠀
Love yourself, momma. I mean it. Love yourself back just as much as you love on your kids.

Yesterday, was such a beautiful day and you know what... The kids complained and fought and yelled so much throughout the day and it wore on me that I can’t say I did much better.
We had plans to go strawberry picking and just as we were about to leave, I almost gave up. I said, “it’s not worth it. It’s not worth it if we’re going to be fighting and angry. Maybe we’ll try again another time.”⠀
⠀
Then my oldest said something I try to do often. “Let’s start over.” Even though it was going on 5 o’clock those words, that grace allows us to stop what we’ve gotten caught up in and totally restart the day no matter the time. No complaining or discussion of what happened earlier just a fresh start. ⠀
⠀
And it meant a good night and pretty good day today ♥️🍓 👉

3 years later this “Letter to my daughter(s) on 3 years later this “Letter to my daughter(s) on RESPECT” couldn’t be more relevant ♥️⠀
⠀
Today seems like a good day to talk about respect and what it really means. It’s possible (probable) that over the next four years as you blossom into a young girl, you’ll hear things spoken from the leader of our country that will make you ask “is that okay?” or “why did he say that?” and you should know that it doesn’t matter who said it or why, but we do not tolerate disrespect towards others.⠀
⠀
I want you to know that I expect more from you and that it is just as important for you to expect respect from others regardless of your age, gender or beliefs.⠀⠀
⠀
🖤R-ECOGNIZE differences. We are all different. You know that well already. Whether it’s our age, skin color, abilities, intelligence, backgrounds, or beliefs, we are all God’s children. It doesn’t matter what role someone holds – a classmate, your teacher, a lunchroom helper, or the principal – each of them is a person that deserves your respect.⠀
⠀
Being different is nothing to be afraid of, and regardless of what makes someone different from you, I expect you treat them with kindness. This world will give you reasons to fear others that are different. I will be with you to keep you safe, and you will learn differences are not to be feared. Differences make us unique and can make our world a great place if we embrace them and include them.⠀
⠀
🖤E-MPATHIZE. We all go through hard times. Sometimes you may see a friend on the playground or in the lunchroom that’s having a rough day. When someone is crying, go listen. When someone is in trouble or need, offer help. If someone is alone, ask if they want to play. If someone is being mean, take the opportunity to show them kindness.⠀
⠀
🖤S-AY something nice. From the words of Thumper, “if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all.” But do more than that. Find something to say. Say nice things to your friends and family and to people you just meet. Doesn’t it make you feel good when people say kind things to you? Help other people feel good, too. With everything going on, I’ve truly never been With everything going on, I’ve truly never been more thankful to live in our mid-size, Midwest town.
Everyone’s been working hard to think differently, be supportive and try something new while keeping each other safe. Getting the chance to support all the local restaurants and coffee shops with curbside pick up, home delivery or being able to get out with the family to smaller places like our zoo last weekend feels so good!
