I couldn’t love this gift we just received any more! For several reasons, we’re not an “elf” family, so when a fellow momma of an epilepsy warrior reached out to share her book @angelonassignment, I knew my girls would love it! This book is beautifully written and not only talks about the important work of angels, but how we can serve as angels too. An “elf alternative” I definitely recommend! My group over on FB.com/herestomomma loved this concept!
If you want to grab the book it’s easily available on Amazon or you can grab it with the plushie angel doll on the web site via @angelonassignment. A great way to support #smallbusinesssaturday too! 💜

Whatever outfit you decide to wear today, whatever food you decide to indulge in, what family you’re able to sit across the table from in a warm home and embrace with a hug and grateful heart ... I hope we all remember that these are the GIFTS that matter today and always even as we begin the shopping craze ♥️⠀
⠀
Happy Thanksgiving, friends! Grateful for you. Have a blessed and wonderful day.

Best compliment you’ve received recently?

I’ve got two to share in this space and I couldn’t be more grateful! First - a friend loved THIS outfit with the blazer so much she bought every piece; Next - she then proceeded to tell tons of friends about @herestomomma. Seriously all, that’s the best compliment I can ask for! When you recommend to a friend to follow here it means so much! Whether you suggest it to them because of the style advice, relatable mom life and encouragement or both, that’s the best gift I could receive this season!
So when someone compliments you on your styling or a particular piece, if you happened to get inspired here...have them open up their Insta or FB and type @herestomomma to join the community too! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! http://liketk.it/2Hg6G #liketkit @liketoknow.it #LTKholidaystyle #LTKsalealert #LTKunder100

It’s been a while since I’ve introduced myself on the Gram...so here we go! I’m Erin, momma to three and an everyday Midwest momma. You’re not going to find any glamour shots on this page, but I do hope to fill this page with inspo for your closet, feed and life ♥️⠀
⠀
I’ve always loved my jobs. From creating my own business plans as a ten year old, opening the YMCA at 5am before heading off to a full schedule in high school, working alongside my best friend for years on and off jobs from Hallmark to waitress and then my official career after college, I put my heart and passion into what I do! ⠀
⠀
My career looked promising, leading teams at a young age, working to bring people together for the best solution, learning from the amazing people around me I had big plans with intention to move into an international assignment down the road. But after my second daughter was born, the week before I headed back to work from maternity leave, plans would change after her first seizure. And a year later, I made the hard decision to leave my job. ⠀
⠀
I can’t tell you allllll that went into that. It was hard and easy at the same time. Fast forward a few years later, I headed back part time and thanks to the relationships and people who knew my work, I have just about the most flexible corporate career around. I am so, so, so grateful for it too! It gives me what I need and I hope serves as a win win for the business too. But I still have space to do more, but that more needs to happen on my own schedule. ⠀
⠀
So @herestomomma was born. And I absolutely LOVE this space! Thanks for being part of it. If you know someone else who would enjoy this space too, please tag them in the comments ♥️

“Her eyes focused to the right, head cocked, body pulsing. I kept screaming her name. Swooped her up, body against mine. Searching for my phone (WHAT is happening?!) both gasping for air with my tears soaking her face, I finally pick up the house phone we just got and dialed 911.” “I open my iPad and search… and search… and read… and search. I can’t stop. I don’t know what I’m looking for. I find hope and fear. I find the worst. I find love. I find how I feel as I educate myself on more of the research out there, the families coping and the kids trying to survive and live life to the fullest. I read up on the new part of our lives…” “The next day…
She stopped breathing
That week she did that twice
Seizures started again
And again” “You hear ‘she may not make it’ and you wonder what’s the last photo you have of the two of you. In the thickness of emotions, you take a selfie together, tears and all and pray to God this isn’t your last.” “I’ve smiled all week with only one major breakdown. I guess it’s getting better. It’s getting easier and I’m thankful for good weeks without any major issues that help break up the pain and stress.”
...
These are just a few excerpts from some of my old blogs and posts. Six years ago today our lives changed forever, the day of my daughter’s first seizure. And November happens to be epilepsy awareness month.

You should know what to do when someone has a seizure because 1 in 10 people will, you should know that epilepsy comes in so many forms, you should know research compared to other diagnoses is SEVERELY underfunded.

But you should also know that while these words, these feelings may describe the physical and emotional heartache that comes with a diagnosis like my daughter’s, the great love that gets us thru it all and even allows us to keep living and smiling and hoping and finding joy…that’s HIS miracle. 💜

Goodness, girl. Some days it’s hard to recognize how it’s possible that you’re half way to driving or a short decade from leaving us for college Some days I put so much on your shoulders and have to remind myself that while you’re super responsible and smart beyond your years, you’re still just 8. Some days I have to look hard to see the “little” in you. Some days I want to pull my hair out trying to have a conversation with you. Some days I don’t ever want you to stop snuggling and fear when you might not ask me to tuck you in and give you fresh hand kisses. Some days I want time to stop and some days can’t go fast enough. Some days, kid. ⠀
⠀
And yesterday was SOME DAY. I saw you, big and little. Leading with your team on the ice. Watching you be brave out there with no protection. Big eyes feeling small in a wide ice arena filled with teams and competitors and bleachers full. I love watching you do something you love and I promise to always support you and help you find time for what brings you joy because you have given us so much joy in this life.
⠀
So whatever it is you stick with, I know SOME DAY you’re going to climb and move mountains, girl...because you already do so many great things just by being you ♥️

I’ve been short on words this week. Short on any deep thought too actually which you know is not like me 😅😉
⠀
We haven’t been feeling great and there’s been a lot to keep up on at home, so even though I’ve been quiet all is good. Looking forward to the weekend and starting a new week feeling much better. C’est bon, friends ♥️ //Shop the look in my #liketkit @herestomomma

Look good. Feel good! Double tap if you agree! I’d say that’s consistent with most of my outfit choices but this dress is so amazing! It’s a super soft sweater material and I just shared over on Facebook.com/herestomomma how it looks on some other blogger friends! So flattering on everyone and it’s on sale for $21 with free shipping in 4 colors! Finally snagged it on sale. I’ll be sharing it on some of my friends in my stories too so check it out ♥️⠀ Great for work, an upcoming holiday or night out...
