Yellow dots, red slashes, big flashing lights…(okay, just kidding on the last one) are all signs of clearance season! Since I can remember, whenever my mom would take me out shopping, we’d head for the clearance racks regardless of the time of year. Sometimes it was a bust but more often than not, we’d find a great sale, a unique piece and the thrill of grabbing it at a fraction of the cost was real! That’s probably why I love style so much still as an adult and why my sense of style can include just about anything. Clearance shopping meant we were on the hunt and soon I’d have another piece to add to my looks.
So show me something for 80%+ off that I love and I’m probably feeling AWESOME about it! While those extreme deals may be hard to come by, there are tons of items you can find for pretty darn close. I did enjoy when I had the luxury of time to go sort through the physical racks, pile up the hangers on my forearm and head to try them on but those days are long gone as a mom. I’ve turned to online shopping so much more now and have been impressed with online deals, too.
Why clearance shopping online may be easier…
My favorite part about shopping clearance online is that I can FILTER! Yes, go filter by price, by size, by type of piece you’re looking for, etc. to see what may be worthy for you to grab vs. having to dig through the entire sales rack.
Why buy more winter items now?
While it may seem like winter is almost over and you’re itching for spring, if you live in the Midwest, you know that’s just a lie you’re telling yourself! Ha! But in all seriousness, it is a great time to find staples like winter jackets, boots, or pieces that will last you into early spring or next season. (And if you’re looking for swimwear for a getaway, you can actually find some super amazing deals on what may still in stock from last summer…again, be sure to filter since those pieces will be very hit and miss.)
A note on final sale
Do make sure to pay attention to anything listed as final sale. My advice here is to really read the reviews and understand if something is your true size or if you should adjust. It’s worth taking the time to really read through people’s comments. If there aren’t reviews, just know if you’re up for the gamble. Piece by piece, determine if the item and price is worth it to you if it doesn’t work out since final sale can’t be returned.
