Shower season is here! Wedding showers and baby showers are such a fun event to catch up with friends and family you may not see regularly. If you’re not up for a dress or it’s still seems to cold like here in the Midwest, use these tips!

Overall keep it bright & light. Showers are a time for celebration and to welcome a new life, whether it’s a newborn or a new joint life. Bright colors or pastels are a way to represent the mood.
- Florals. Especially right now, a floral blouse is a piece you’ll wear over and over and is a great way to dress without a dress.
Blue floral – great for work
Yellow off the shoulder, also available in a black floral
Tie-front, green floral
- Feminine. Whether it’s a great ruffle or a sweet peplum, there are so many feminine features in today’s style. Pick one and wear it well.
Ruffle tank, great on its own or under a blazer
Peplum top with feminine sleeve detail, also available in a fun floral
- Go Trendy. Pull out one fun trend and keep the rest of your outfit simple. I love the high-waisted belted pants look for anyone on the taller side! I wish I could pull it off but with my shorty genes I haven’t had much luck. Or go simple and pull out some standout shoes. Consider a great mule in place of sandals while the weather’s still chill.
Tie-waist pants with a great heel
Gorgeous floral mules
And the great part is you can definitely wear any of these pieces again another way. For me, my go-to is the dress but as you can see there are some wonderful alternatives, too. Have a great time at the shower!
